Your anniversary is just around the corner and you’re still undecided on what to give her on your special day. You have already given her sweets, flowers, and everything nice so this time, you’re planning to offer her something unique that is a notch above all these things you have showered her. 

Why not give her a promise ring? 

A promise ring is a symbol of love between couples. It displays as a token of your unwavering loyalty and commitment to your thriving relationship. More than just ravishing jewels, it serves as a status symbol that you are both exclusively dating and considered as a way to reiterate your devotion during instances when words are no longer heard. 

In today’s generation, however, promise rings can have varying definitions. It can be a sign of a budding friendship, a vow to break a bad habit or ratification of one’s membership in a group. 

Regardless of the pledge it represents, promise rings are given because of one reason: love.

Promise rings are given in different settings. It can be for romantic contexts or just casual ones. The following are the most common reasons why people give someone a promise ring:

  1. You want to ensure your partner that you’re taking your relationship seriously. 

  2. You are both young and not yet ready for marriage but you know that you’ll still be together through thick and thin.

  3. You will be living apart in different cities or countries because of work or study. 

  4. You want to mend the gaps in your relationship and restore your trust and hope with one another.

  5. You cannot afford an expensive engagement ring yet, but eventually, you will. In this case, promise rings serve as a pre-engagement ring. 

  6. You want to thank your best friend for always being at your back when things get tough.

  7. You wish to end your vices, step by step.

  8. You vowed to be a loyal member of your organization. 

Just remember, a promise ring can be worn on any finger. But if bought as a pre-engagement ring, it should be worn on the ring finger of one’s left hand. Moreover, some people may also opt to wear their promise ring on a chain around their neck.

Giving a promise ring requires serious commitment. You should always be mindful of the pledge you have made to the person at all times.
